IMPALA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006

Welcome to Wales!  These notes are for your information and will hopefully make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible.

OFFICE

A race office will be located at Neyland Yacht Club and will be open from 07.30 to 09.30 and from the completion of racing to 19.30hrs.  On Monday 19th June the Club will be open from 14.00hrs to 19.00hrs.  The telephone number is 01646 600267.  Any urgent calls received at any time will be relayed as soon as possible.

BRIEFING

The briefing for the event will be held at Neyland Yacht Club on Monday 19 June at 18.00hrs.  At least two representatives from each competing boat should attend.  The race officer may call a briefing at 08.30 on any day and notice will be posted at Neyland Yacht Club Impala notice board and Neyland Marina notice board.

ENTERTAINMENT

The following programme of events has been arranged:

Monday 19 June                              19.30hrs for 20.00hrs.

Tuesday 20 June                             21.00hrs.

Wednesday 21 June                        20.00hrs

                                                          INTERNATIONAL DRINKS NIGHT

Thursday 22 June                            19.30hrs

                                                          PIG ROAST

Friday 23 June                                 19.30hrs for 20.00hrs

                                                          PRESENTATION & DINNER

Tickets for the presentation dinner will be available at the club.  Bookings are required by 10.00hrs on Monday 19 June for the benefit of the caterers.  

BOAT & SAIL INSPECTION

Will take place on Monday 19 June.  Will you please have all your equipment available.

FOOD

Breakfast will be available from 07.00 to 09.00 hrs Monday to Friday at The Bar, Neyland Marina.

Packed lunches will be available for sailors and can be ordered the night before at The Bar.

The Yacht Club also does very reasonable bar meals and a la carte menu, and is within reasonable walking distance of the Marina.

RACE AREA

The Olympic course starts will probably be in the vicinity of Sandy Haven to the west of the ESSO JETTY and north of STACK ROCK.  The cruising time to the race area will be approx. ¾- 1 hour.  Sufficient for a cup of tea and clearance of hangovers!
